Gadar 2 advance booking Day 1: Sunny Deol’s film collects Rs 5.90cr with over 190,000 tickets sold, expected to open big

 

Actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will return to the big screen next Friday with Gadar 2, the sequel to their blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film's advance bookings have started, and the film has already sold 190,885 tickets for day two.

According to the trade website Sacnilk, Gadar 2's first day advance business has already crossed Rs 5.42 crore. The maximum booking was seen in the Delhi NCR with 38 percent occupancy, followed by Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru with six percent, five percent, and four percent, respectively.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Gadar 2 has sold 22,100 tickets at PVR, 13,990 at Inox, and 9,350 tickets at Cinepolis -- the three national chains.

Gadar 2 will clash with Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 at the box office. Both films are also expected to share the screen with Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which has been running successfully in theatres since July 28.

Taran tweeted that the romantic comedy drama, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, has become Bollywood's second-highest grosser overseas after Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma and continues the story of Tara Singh and Sakeena. The sequel sees Tara Singh crossing the border and going to Pakistan to rescue his son, played by Utkarsh Sharma
